Candace Lovitt

Hi Everyone! My name is Mrs. Candace Lovitt and I will be teaching 8th grade ELA. I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your student again this year or get them for the first time. This is my eighth year at BCMS teaching English Language Arts and I love it!

I grew up on Wheeler Mountain, where I lived until college and later moved to the valley with my husband a while after we were married. My husband, Brian, and I have been married for 8 years and we are raising three beautiful children. Our children's names are Noah, who is four, Alexis (Lexi), who is 2, and our newest addition Ezekiel (Zeke).

I love teaching the subject of ELA and inspiring students who may not have liked the subject previously. We learn in my classroom in a variety of ways, such as whole class, small group, and individual work. Our Units on A Christmas Carol, The Giver, and Behind the Scenes, and Thirty Years a Slave capture student attention easily.

I am a firm believer in parental contacts. I will be sure to stay in contact either through email or by phone to help ensure that we (the student, teacher, and parent) are all aware of any struggles that may occur. And please feel free to keep in contact with me if you feel there is an issue that should be discussed. You may contact me by calling the school at 447-3212 or email @ me at
